about

Nick Faye and the Deputies are from a frigid corner of the universe known as Regina, Saskatchewan. The band released their debut full length album “The Last Best West” in May 2011 to favourable reviews and extensive community radio airtime across North America.

“Harvest EP” is a byproduct of a broken heart, rough hands, weary eyes, and an idle mind. The songs were written by Faye while working as a farmhand at his family farm near Kelliher, SK during the summer of 2012. The band travelled to the same farmhouse in October to record the songs. The three song EP was released on February 2013.

The band has shared the stage with notable artists such as Shad, Arkells, Rah Rah, Teen Daze, Northcote, Zach Lucky, Andy Shauf, Cam Penner, and We Were Lovers.

Track Name: Rockets
You were standing on the porch, with a smoke and a citrus tongue
The rockets hummed below, as you spoke with the neighbour's son
You were fumbling for the words I deserved, how you took your precious time

When I go, could you stay where you are

The rain fell on the road, as the cars touched the yellow line
The music from below, how the notes drifted up from the neighbor's house
You were standing by the stove as I drove, will I ever cross your mind?

When you go, leave the keys in the hall
When you go, leave the keys in the hall
Track Name: Pincher Creek
I was gone, when the metal hit the fence
When the news came in from Johnny, I was healthy I was fit

The sun was high, when the casket hit the soil, when the Aunts and all the Farmhands
Poured one out for better days

Oh I was halfway to Pincher Creek, I broke down
The engine blew a gasket on the road
Oh and I would give me soul, to see your troubled eyes, you know I need those sunken eyes in my life

I was taught, never to give love
Only give the promise but you tore if from my bones, yeah you tore it from my bones

Here I stand, staring at the wall
Thinking about your sadness, are you healthy, are you strong?

Oh I was halfway to Pincher Creek, I broke down
The engine blew a gasket on the road
Oh and I would give me soul, to see your troubled eyes, you know I need those sunken eyes in my life
Track Name: Eleanor
I could be the one, to hold you in shelter
I could be the one, to hold back those shadows
Eleanor don't fret, and please don't you forget
The evening in the rain, when we were in love

I will hoist you up, I'll stay in the water
and you watch it rise

You walked a ways ahead, the crisp hues of autumn
The fragments of regret were clouding your mind
Eleanor you wept, for a promise that wasn't kept
The evening at your door, the death of my youth

I still hoist you up, I'm drowning in the water
and you watch it rise, watch it rise

I will always call, you will never answer
I will break your fall, you saw me as a cancer
I'll always hoist you up, I'm dying in the water
and you watch it rise, you watch it rise
